Twenty years in veterinary medicine. A lifetime of listening. A gift that doesn't have a species. If you love them — she will too.
Kit's World
I want to tell you about Kit. He is my Maine Coon mix — and before you picture one of those magnificent twenty-pound giants, let me clarify: Kit did not inherit the size. He inherited everything else. The mane. The markings. The tufted ears. The imperious personality. The complete indifference to anything you want him to do. He is, without question, the most opinionated creature I have ever shared a home with. I have spent over twenty years working with animals. Kit remains unimpressed. Over the years, I have bought Kit toys. Many toys. Kit has played with exactly none of them. But the box they came in?
"Every animal communicates. Every animal has a personality, a history, a way of being in the world. My job is to slow down enough to hear it."— Lynne Ludwig, The Cat Whisperer
People have always been complicated. Animals — every kind, every species — have always just known Lynne. From her earliest memories to over two decades in veterinary medicine, the connection between Lynne and the animals in her care has been something that can't be taught. It can only be felt.
"I understand what it means to love an animal the way most people love their family. Because that's exactly what they are."
Not a store. A cabinet of trusted things — each one with a story, each one earned through twenty years of watching what works.
"Kidney disease is preventable. Hydration is everything. This is the first thing I recommend to every new client."
"I recommend this to every new client with an anxious cat. I've watched it work in rooms where nothing else did."
"Every senior cat I visit has one of these now. The difference in how they carry themselves within days is visible."
"I have never met a cat who could resist these. I use them to make friends with the ones who hide from everyone."
